We have experience in conducting full scale plant relocations. These operations combine the requirements of a heavy haul company with the requirements of competent project management. These heavy haul transportation projects often require the transportation of large items such as power generators, transformers and refinery components from state to state or from one country to another. With each relocation project distinguished from the next, it is crucial that our team be trained to provide logistics service and support for a variety of items.
In addition to large scale operations such as the complete relocation or construction of a plant, we also have decades of experience in providing logistics for the transportation of large oversize and overweight items. As a heavy haul company, we must be knowledgeable in the various regulations and restrictions regarding the transportation of oversize and heavy haul items in the numerous states and countries in which we traverse. Each state, or other corresponding jurisdiction, has restrictions on the dimensions and weight of items being transported. If the item is within acceptable limits, a permit or other clearance can be obtained to allow the shipment. However, sometimes the shipment is even too large to carry by specialized transport trucks. In those situations, rail shipment may be a valid option.
Although rail shipment can be somewhat larger than transportation by truck, it also has its limits. If the items are too large for the railway, we have extensive experience in barge transportation. Barge transportation is flexible enough to allow for several different types of packages all within the same shipment.
